Chronic Pain

I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Chronic Pain (CBT-CP), a 12-session protocol that combines evidence-based treatment with a focus on the individual client’s needs. CBT-CP focuses on improving the client’s quality of life, increasing the box in which some clients feel they live in when chronic pain is present in their lives. May goal is to empower clients and share skills with them that they can use to enjoy life even though they experience chronic pain.

While the protocol is typically 10 to 12 sessions, there is flexibility based on the needs of the client and I can happily and skillfully alter this treatment with regards to clients’ needs. Therapy focused on other issues can continue after completing CBT-CP. In addition, CBT-CP can be interrupted and the therapy focus can be shifted to any new and/or more salient concerns that may arise for the client.
